The Gospel Of John

Incredible the amount of times the word "believe" and "seek" are used in the gospel of John. The word "believe" is used more than all the other gospels combined. I catch myself reading... rather skimming my bible trying to pick out what pops out to me... NO. I must gaze and read intently... word by word, for it is not I who must pick out what I want the Bible to say to me... but rather I must read and listen to what God wants to say to me! Learn how to read your Bible..... I'm still learning how to.......

OUR MISSION - HIS GLORY

God is a God of missions. He wills missions. He commands missions. He demands missions. "Cover to cover, the Bible is a missionary story. God is about the business of “reconciling the world to Himself” (2 Cor 5:19). Christ’s closing charge—to go and make disciples (Matt 28:18–20). The clarion call to reach the world is fueled and driven by this mandate from the greatest missionary of all time— One who was sent by His Father to open the door of reconciliation to “whoever will call on the name of the Lord” (Rom 10:13). In some respects, never in the history of mankind has this charge been easier to carry out."

"The gospel belongs to every one in every culture; it belongs to no one in any one culture in particular" (Mark Noll) It seems to me that some of us functionally think of ourselves as American Christians. Any counsel on how to avoid this error?
